News from the South Glens Falls Chamber

Hello Supporters of the Chamber,

We wanted to share some notes about our last South Glens Falls Chamber of Commerce Business Meeting on Monday, October 16th.
As a reminder, the business meetings are open to all, to members and not-yet-members who would like to learn more about our initiatives and join the Chamber. Meetings are usually the second Monday of the month 5-6pm at the Moreau Community Center, but please stay tuned for changes in venue. Our next meeting is on 11/13 and we are looking for a venue. Suggestions are appreciated.
Here are some highlights:

Strategic Planning Meeting for 2024: 11/13 5-7pm: We need to identify a location for the meeting as the Center is not available. Suggestions are welcome. (St. Michael’s, Humbuggs, Village Hall?) The itinerary for the meeting is yet to be determined, but we welcome any ideas, suggested mission statements, etc. We need to set the course for 2024 and beyond.

Holiday Mixer 12/7 5-7p, Common Roots: Please let me know if you are planning to attend and if you will have a guest. $25 per person includes lots of yummy food and networking. Cash bar available.

Membership: New member Alicia shared some great ideas and would like to assume chair of the Membership Committee. Members who are interested in helping grow the Chamber and bring value to our members are welcome. We will need to vote for her at the next meeting. Welcome Alicia! We are working on stickers that members can display at their place of business. Stay tuned!
   * Membership Dues: Membership dues for 2024 will be $75. However, if anyone signs up before the end of the year, 2024 membership dues will be $50.
   * Membership application is attached.
SGF Local Development Corp: Welcome to SGF LDC representative Samantha Berg (Village Clerk as well), another new member of the Chamber. It was great to hear how the LDC is helping to grow our community and hope to hear more success stories,
Golf Committee: I heard from Joan Heber of Airway Meadows. She is currently having kidney surgery in Boston so will be out of commission for about 6 weeks. I have sent her our best wishes. Once Joan is healed, and up and running, the golf committee will move forward. The golf tournament is on August 16, 2024 at Airway Meadows. Please let me know if you’d like to help this long-standing tradition, a successful event to fund our scholarship and the Chamber.
Website: Is up and running! https://sgfchamber.com/about/ Thank you to Ann Donnelly for helping. The website will always be a work in progress as we are working through some glitches on the calendar. Please let me know if any changes need to be made to your entry. The business directory is working fine and is a great resource for our business community.
Member Spotlights Needed: We would like to feature members on our Facebook page, and as we move forward, in other public communications to help promote our members. The Spotlights to date have been well shared, raising exposure for our members. If you would like to be featured as a Member Spotlight, please let me know.
Concerts in the Park: The committee will meet early in the new year to plan for 2024. Concerts will most likely be on Wednesday nights. Sponsors are needed. This is a great opportunity to promote your business and continue to grow a long-standing cherished tradition in our community.
South Glens Falls Memorial Day Parade, 5/24/2024: Participation and support of the SGF Memorial Day Parade.
Facebook: Please “Like” and “Share” on our Facebook page to help promote your business, organization, events.
Thoughtfully submitted. We hope you all will join us!
